The family skiing region Winklmoos, where already Bavarian champion Rosi Mittermaier was taught skiing, is located at an altitude between 750- 1500 m and offers numerous slopes from ability levels very easy to intermediate. This skiing area in the Chiemgau finds its start at the "Rossalm" on the Bavarian side, which is only a few minutes by car from Ruhpolding and the Ski Huber rental and service locations. You would park your car at "Seegatterl" parking square and would reach one of the most beautiful slopes of the Bavarian Chiemgau Alps in only a few minutes by shuttle.

In the area of the Rossalm lift and Kurvenlift there is a fun park with waves, steep turns and kicker. For more advanced drivers the slopes of Kurvenlift and Scheiblberg or the transition to the second section of the skiing region called "Steinplatte" where Bavaria, Salzburg Country and Tyrol meet at a spot, will invite. Althogether there will be 12 km of slopes available in
the Bavarian Winklmoos region only.


Skilled skiers can use the whole skiing region of Winklmoos-Steinplatte with all the 12 lifts and cable-cars and the 44 km of groomed slopes of all levels of difficulty up to an altitude of 1860 m. Situated in an exceptional geographical location and by means of numerous artificial snow production machines in both sub-parts of the skiing region Winklmoos-Steinplatte, snow is almost guaranteed until spring. Cosy traditional huts and restaurants will invite with traditional dishes for culinary pleasures high up on the mountains.

For cross-country the skiing area of Winklmoos with its extended cross-country ski runs will offer many kilometers of romantic skiing trails and skating runs like e.g. the "Grenzland" run or the skating run Winklmoosalm. In summer the area is a stomping ground for hikers and mountainbikers.
